Account Suspended!
June 22nd, 2000
The account "3mc" or link "http://3mc.spydar.com", has been suspended due to failure to obey the Spydar Redirection Service Terms and Conditions statement.

Today I received a reply email from the Canadian Recording Industry Association stating that services such as Spydar Redirection Service that link to sites "which contain infringing copies of sound recordings, are therefore harming the record companies and the artists and composers of the underlying music, any of whom could take legal action to protect their copyrights."

In short, this means that any Spydar Redirection Service account redirecting to a site which contains copyrighted material is illegal and the account will be suspended.

Concerning the article in the National Post newspaper:

A recent article in the National Post (Canadian newspaper) addressed the suspension issue of the account "3mc". There are a few clarifications about the article that must be discussed. First of all, I did start the web site 3mc, but that was before the Tragically Hip album was even thought of. I had turned over the controls for 3mc several months before the site released the Hip's new album and am in no way affiliated. My only connection, was that the webmaster of 3mc had kept the redirection address, "http://3mc.spydar.com". Apparently the CRIA does not approve of this type of connection to the site and have requested that the account be terminated. I have appealed the request, but the details will remain undisclosed.   On behalf of Spydar Redirection Service, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the Tragically Hip and Universal Music for this premature exposure by one of its members. Personally, the Tragically Hip are my all time favourite band and I have every one of their CDs. I even preordered the new album, Music @ Work, online from Chapters. I haven't listened to any of the new tracks yet and I am impatiently awaiting the album's arrival at my door. Attending one of their concerts in Sydney, Nova Scotia was a highlight and I can't wait until they return this fall. Those of you who haven't yet ordered the new album, click here to go the Chapters.ca order page.
